Fable 2: Shopping for that special someone
I know when I go shopping I like to have choices. You know, like when you go to an online store and you’re presented with the “Good, Better, Best” selection of hardware configurations for your new computer? The folks at Lionhead Studios, hard at work on the next chapter in the Fable series, seem to feel the same way.
A newly-released concept drawing posted on OXM UK shows the ultimate in contrasting tastes when it comes to choosing your favorite lady of the evening (click the picture to see a larger, unedited, version).
As the Grail Knight so direly put it in Indy 3, “Choose wisely, for while the true prostitute will bring you life, the false prostitute will take it from you.” Now, I may have misquoted there, but you get the point.
A preview of the upcoming RPG also details the three main new features, according to designer Peter Molyneux. The first is an extensive co-op mode that lets players jump in and out of the game at will. Second is a revised combat system that adds significantly more depth and strategy.
But considering the choice to be made above, it’s the third feature that interests me the most. Prior to the full release of Fable 2, an Xbox Live Arcade gambling game will let players build up some virtual cash reserves before they start playing. I’m hoping I will have enough in the bank to give the “Good” and “Better” choices a pass and go straight for door number 3.
