Free MMORPG spotlight: NeoSteam
Being the frugal gamer that I am, I prefer my games to be as cheap as they come… free. I have scoured the Internet in search of exceptional pieces of freeware and I have noticed one trend. The overwhelming majority of these free games, good and bad, are MMORPGS. I enjoy this genre of games, but I find myself unable to progress very far. I quit World of Warcraft at level 42. Whether its the ridiculous leveling curves, lack of friends interested in MMOs or a general loss of interest, I seem to play each of them for the same length of time before giving up. One would think that after so many attempts I would quit my search for quality freeware titles, but I refuse to yield. I will continue my search until the bitter end.
Which brings me to my latest discovery: NeoSteam. NeoSteam appears to be the first, steampunk themed MMORPG to my knowledge. It officially begins its closed beta test on April 24th. Upon further review, NeoSteam isn’t as directly steampunk as it is inspired by the subculture. Most steampunk works aren’t as self-proclaimed or literal as this one. It also seems to combine elements of fantasy in its several races. There is the typical human, the token female race of elves, the dwarven Pom, and the animal race of Luife Liel and Taroons.
Gameplay elements do not seem to be much different from the MMORPG standard, but it is difficult to tell without in-game experience. For more information, check out the website but be warned, the translation is very rough.

Game sucks community sucks GM’s suck bugs suck server sucks hoster sucks what more can I say? Rated number 1 in my list of failures, trying to be like so many other games but in the end the people that run the game let it down
