Grab that tennis racket, YOU could be the next rock god

Air GuitarAdmit it, you just knew those mad air-guitar skills you’ve been honing since middle school would pay off some day. Well, today is that day, my friend. Activision is soliciting videos of would-be rock stars for inclusion as characters in some future Guitar Hero release. Your moves, your insane head-banging could be the model for the next generation of players the world over.

If you’re not up for joining in the fun yourself, you can ridicule judge entries by voting through Digg and other such sites. All the winners will be chosen by the community at large, according to Activision.

The press release states: “The right planets have finally aligned. The time has come for the world’s rock messiah to come forth and offer up face-melting salvation to the masses. Activision is looking to finally crown the one true Guitar Hero and create a character in his or her likeness to be featured in the next Guitar Hero! Anyone can shed their mortal coil and see themselves scorch the stage like their glorious icons.”

Now you’re talking! Sign me up. Speaking of which, if you think you have what it takes, dust off that camcorder and head on over to the official site with the link below. Now, where did I leave my tennis racket?
