New DS to be at E3? My heart is breaking

DS 9000In a surprising turn of events, word on the street says that Nintendo might be announcing a third version of their money printing machine at E3 this coming July. While details are slim, this has made me both excited and pissed off. A new DS? Count me in… oh wait, that’s right, I’ve already bought two of the damn things (DS and Lite) and I’ll be damned if I’ll buy another one. One must draw the line between spending one’s money and having it stolen from you.

That’s right, Nintendo. You’re stealing from me. You caught me in with the first revelation of the DS and the enticing, if not altogether suggestive, “Touching is Good” campaign. Then, you dared to harness the power of the sun in the new DS Lite. Its sheer aesthetic design ensured my second purchase. Oh Nintendo, you’ve become my temptress that even now beckons my patronage. NAY! I shall no longer ignore these injustices. I swear to now use rational thought for my next purchase instead of gaily following your piper’s tune. I love you, Nintendo, but I think we need to keep our distance… unless this new DS is decidedly earth-shattering.

[...] Japan has denied the rumors of a DS redesign to be revealed at E3. Now, I know that I had some not so kind words for the DS when this first was announced but, now that the Nintendo higher-ups have quashed this [...]
