No new DS at E3? Break my heart even more…

In a disappointing yet not-so-surprising move, Nintendo Japan has denied the rumors of a DS redesign to be revealed at E3. Now, I know that I had some not so kind words for the DS when this first was announced but, now that the Nintendo higher-ups have quashed this rumor, I feel a bit more disappointed than I was in the first place.
Certainly a new DS would be a shock to my budget, but after having raised expectations, news like this is more than disappointing. I’m always excited to see what Nintendo does, regardless of its novelty or obscurity because, in my opinion, they serve to push the envelope for the entire gaming community with their hits and even their misses. So, while the truth hurts, it’s good to know that I’ll still be able to play my DS for a little longer.
That is, if Nintendo isn’t lying about this.

Well, when you consider that Nintendo was denying the existence of the DS Lite just days before it was released, I wouldn’t be too heartbroken just yet.
