Perfect Prosecutor? Ace Attorney spin-off in the works

Hold It!If you own a DS, chances are you’ve heard of the Ace Attorney/Gyakuten Saiban games. To those not familiar with the series, these games are a sort-of mash up of old school adventure gameplay, with logic puzzles, and an engaging storyline.

The previous entries in the series had you playing as the defense attorney Phoenix Wright, or, in the latest installment, Apollo Justice. Typically, you face trumped-up charges with almost no way to clear your defendant’s name and pitted-against some of the most ruthless prosecutors you’ve ever seen. Well, now it seems the folks at Capcom are giving us wannabe attorneys another reason to squeal with joy.

According to scans of a recent Famitsu magazine, this latest game is a spin-off in which you play as Phoenix Wright’s friend and rival, prosecutor Miles “Edgey” Edgeworth. The style of this game appears to be more exploration and investigation oriented, as opposed to the original’s courtroom battles. This development has me excited about the games again. Here’s hoping it makes it to the States soon.

Ive never played a Phoenix Wright game but i guess ill have to check one of them out. how does the court room part go over? Is it like Mass Effect/Kotor where you choose something to say/present from a list?
