Soul Calibur on XBLA - First Screens!

Posted by Commander Tim

I wrote up a rather excited post back when Namco-Bandai announced the upcoming release of Soul Calibur on Xbox Live Arcade this summer. After I finished writing the article, I hooked up my Dreamcast to the high-def television in the living room to get back into shape and eagerly await more news. Well, it’s my joyous pleasure to say that Namco has finally released screen shots of the upcoming game! Obviously, this release is based off the Dreamcast version of the title rather than the inferior System 12 based arcade version. How’s it look? Follow the link below and see for yourself. When Soul Calibur originally came out, it was praised as being the most graphically advanced game ever, and held that title for a very long time. Granted it has been almost 10 years, but it still manages to age somewhat gracefully. While not nearly as mind-blowing as it was when if first exploded on the scene, I think it will serve as a nice reminder of how far we’ve come when it releases this summer along side Soul Calibur IV.
